Vermiculite is a secondary metamorphism mineral of hydro alumino silicate containing magnesium, the  shape of raw vermiculite is like mica. And when vermiculite is heated at high temperature it expands and becomes worm like.

Vermiculite is mainly exploited in the United States and South Africa. In addition, China, Japan and other countries are also well known as vermiculite suppliers. Vermiculite produced in Lingshou, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and other regions has been exported to Japan, Korea and other countries.

Our company has its own vermiculite production and processing factory in Hebei, which can process raw vermiculite and produce expanded vermiculite.

Generally, vermiculite is treated by sieving and crushing after opencast mining, and then it will be divided into six size grades, which are more than 8mm, 2-4mm, 0.5mm and so on.

Raw vermiculite ore is fired into expanded vermiculite in expansion furnace at high temperature (800 ℃ - 1000 ℃).

Because of its light weight, excellent heat resistance and fire resistance, vermiculite is often used in producing ceiling materials or lightweight brick materials. And as it is rich in minerals, it is also used in horticulture and soil improvement.
